In the Harry Potter films, Emma Watson’s character Hermione had been kinda sorta spoken for for quite awhile – as one of the prime characters we all knew that, if she survived the increasingly violent storyline, she’d likely end up with one of the other stars.

In Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic “Noah” this spring, she is cast as Noah’s adopted daughter Ila and also kinda sorta spoken to by her stepbrother, so she’s unlikely to play the field – especially since the field is now under thousands of gallons of water, not to mention any other romantic contenders have been swept away.

Pregnant in the newer, drier planet, she now has nothing but time to get busy repopulating the earth. Watson, on the other hand, has her day planned maxed out with acting work, modeling, publicity tours, being a yoga instructor and trying to complete her degree at Brown this year.

The 23-year-old Watson has sent her love life and even her social life to the backburner while she works a “normal” student. Her filming schedule and education track – scheduled to be completed this May – has also kept her name out of the headlines.

If she ever allowed herself the time to get a serious guy, she knows what to look for, or rather what not to look for: fame.

In several recent interviews, including a cover story in Elle Australia, she said she likes the idea of dating a “civilian” – someone not in the film biz or not in the public eye in any way, shape or form. She also doesn’t necessarily like the idea of how her celebrity status could elevate someone else’s image, and suddenly his life and their intimate time together can instantly become tabloid fodder simply because he’s with her.

Instead, she’d prefer to use her status to keep the glaring spotlight of publicity far away from her guy.

She’s currently trying to fulfill this privacy while dating an Oxford student named Matt Janney. Not a lot of details have been shared other than he’s part of the school’s rugby program.
