Why Elin Nordegren Is Happy About Tiger Woods

There was a point in time that Elin Nordegren was the center of one of the biggest sporting meltdowns in the history of, well, history. Tiger Wood’s sexcapades nearly brought his golfing brand, and empire, to its knees while effectively ending his marriage. Elin and Tiger, for a long time, were in a bad place emotionally towards each other but now, it seems that they’ve managed to move on. In an upcoming issue of People, Elin went out of her way to say that she is happy for Tiger and Lindsey. The ability to even utter those words proves the fact that, as she states later in the interview, she has truly moved on.

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn set the sports world afire when they began dating. The two world class athletes are icons for their respective sports and, together, have pushed almost all other sports gossip off of the internet. Being that the two are so prevalent in the media, a response from Elin seemed almost necessary. Tiger’s ex-wife recently graduated from Rollins College with a 3.96 GPA which earned her some of the top honors at the school. These honors included her giving of the commencement speech.

Nordegren took the speech and ran with it, taking the opportunity to tell a few jokes at her ex-husband’s expense. Elin did go out of her way to assure folks that they were still on an even keel with each other. Nordegren says that their relationship is “centered around our children” and that they are doing “really good together” because Tiger is a “great father”. Elin also went on to say that she was happy for Tiger and Lindsey because there is now “somebody else” to add their love to her children.

Elin is currently with Chris Cline, a 55 year old coal magnate who lives in Florida. The new couple have refused to speak publicly about their relationship, due in large part to Elin’s already highly scrutinized life.
