Amy Poehler – ‘Getting A Divorce Really Sucks’

The Parks and Recreation star, Amy Poehler, has been vocal for the very first time about her divorce from Arrested Development actor, Will Arnett.

Speaking Through Her Book

The comedian duo made a shocking announcement back in September 2012 when they informed the public they were ending their marriage, and now, two years later, Amy has finally broken her silence on the whole thing in her new book “Yes Please.”

“Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air. The process of divorce is about loading that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands,” the actress wrote.

Divorce Sucks

Amy remained silent when it comes to reasons behind the divorce saying it was far ‘too sad and personal’ to talk about.

However, she did open up about her emotions and stated she felt ‘incredibly alone.’

“When you are a person going through a divorce you feel incredibly alone, yet you are constantly reminded by society of how frequently divorce happens and how common it has become.

You aren’t allowed to feel special, but no one knows the specific ways you are in pain.”

Nevertheless, Amy never talked badly about her ex-husband Will.

“I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children. I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don’t think a ten-year marriage constitutes failure. Getting a divorce really sucks…”
