Another show business marriage has come to an end, as Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams begin dealing with lawyers and divorce papers. Moore allegedly filed for divorce from the musician weeks before their sixth wedding anniversary; however, the former couple insists the split is amicable.

The musician and the actress / singer shared the news in a joint statement, saying: “Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost six years.

It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”

According to the documents, Moore has asked for spousal support and cited irreconcilable differences. She filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles, while her soon to be ex husband was in New York.

30-year-old Mandy and 40-year-old Ryan got married on March 10, 2009 in Savannah, Georgia. They have dated on and off for around a year before getting married. The musical former couple has no children together, but they shared nine pets – seven cats and two dogs.

The couple was well-known for being private about their relationship. They rarely talked about their marriage or even appeared at events together.

Adams released a self-titled album a few months prior to the divorce, on which Moore sung back-up vocals. The actress has also teamed up with her husband on her upcoming seventh studio album.

Before marrying Adams, Moore dated tennis player Andy Roddick and the late Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM.
