There is no greater sorrow than when love of two souls comes to an end. Actress and socialite Elizabeth Olsen and her fiancé Boyd Holbrook have split after a relationship that lasted for three years.

The news was confirmed by a source close to the former pair, and it came after Olsen was photographed this past weekend at a farmer’s market in Studio City, California, without her engagement ring.

It was also noticed by an insider that Holbrook attended the CAA’s Pre-Golden Globes Party at the Soho House in West Hollywood on January 9th without Olsen.

The actor was even seen outside the party, flirting with a blonde woman. The woman resembled his former love of three years. Is it a preference or nostalgia, we wonder?

25-year-old Olsen and 33-year-old Holbrook first started dating in 2012 after they met on the set of their film Very Good Girls, in which Dakota Fanning and Demi Moore also starred. The duo got engaged last March, less than two weeks after the news that her big sister Mary-Kate Olsen was set to marry financier Olivier Sarkozy.

A couple of months after the engagement, the Godzilla actress spoke about her engagement: “I’m relaxed about it, but I am excited and planning ideas because it’s fun -it’s just like throwing a party to celebrate life. I love being in a relationship a lot. My mother would love it if I was in L.A. with kids. I loved growing up in L.A., but I always think about places I’ve never been to before, like Oregon.”

The actress is also known for her role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, while her former love is known for his role in Gone Girl.
