Catherine moved to a country house in Bedford after separating from her husband, Michael Douglas, last year, but as the couple reconciled not that long ago, and is now based in New York City, the beautiful mansion is no longer needed.
The property where the actress lived during the pair’s temporary separation last year, has been listed on real estate database Zillow’s website and the listed price reaches nearly £5million.
What does this property offer?
The colonial 6,600 square meter house features a centre hall, spiral staircase, six bedrooms, six bathrooms and wrap-around balconies that look out over the farm where Catherine used to ride her horses.
The estate also includes several gardens, a greenhouse, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a state-of-the art gym. Hmm, maybe 5mil isn’t that pricy after all.
Catherine and Michael bought the property back in 2010 for £3million.
Catherine wants to be near her husband who recently won a battle with cancer
The actress has spoken about Michael’s illness and how she felt when she found out that her husband of 14 years had cancer.
“I was a mess. I’ll be quite frank. I was a mess,” Catherine said at the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies 5th World Congress opening ceremony in July.
“When I’m married to a man who has such a conviction for life… he fights to make the wrongs right.
For the first time, he was fighting for his life,” she said.
Michael joined the congress in order to thank doctors who saved his life and explained that he was misdiagnosed three times before eventually having a walnut-sized tumor removed from the back of his tongue in 2010.
It seems that after all the negative things that have transpired between the famous couple, Michael and Catherine are now stronger than ever, and we wish them all the best in the years to come. 5 mils from the house will certainly won’t hurt.
