Ariana Grande, 21, took to Instagram on Sunday to explain her point of view regarding how society views young women in terms of the men they are associated with.

The singer released all her frustrations in a fairly long and feminist rant, making it perfectly clear to everyone that Ariana Grande belongs to herself.

“I’m tired of needing to be linked to a guy, I’m not Big Sean’s ex, I’m not Niall’s new possible girl. I’m Ariana Grande,” she said.

“What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean’s ex is that I am tired of living in the world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION.”

Ariana went on to add she’s enjoying her “singlehood” after years of feeling she needed a boy by her side.

“I can’t wait to live in a world where people are not valued by who they’re dating/married to/attached to, having sex with (or not)/seen with…. but by their values as an individual,” the singer concluded.
