Bourne’s Identity star Matt Damon and his wife Luciana are among the first guests to arrive in Venice for the highly anticipated wedding which is about to take place this weekend.

Ellen Barkin, Amal’s friend who threw her a hen party several weeks ago, was also reported to have arrived, alongside Miguel Ferrer, Richard Kind and Cindy Crawford.

U2 rocker Bono hasn’t showed up yet, while Cindy’s husband Rande Gerber, who is expected to act as George’s best man, is also expected to appear soon.

Perhaps the most awaited couple and newlyweds themselves, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, are reported to have booked a suite at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, where George and Amal are hosting a rehearsal dinner on Friday.

Wedding Details

The two lovebirds are expected to marry on Saturday at a waterside location, most likely at the 7 star Aman Canal Grand Venice Hotel known for its magnificent views.

It is rumored that the famous Grand Canal will be closed for the day so the two can proceed down Venice’s famous waterways after the ceremony as a flotilla of gondolas follow them.

E! Online has recently found out that the ceremony will be conducted by George’s friend, and the former mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni.

The Wedding Gown & The Suit

It seems that Amal has chosen chief designer Sarah Burton to design the gown. Sarah was responsible for the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton’s dazzling gown we all loved, so Amal simply can’t go wrong.

George, on the other hand, decided to be on the safe side choosing a suit by Giorgio Armani, an old friend who’s suits the actor wore many times on red carpet occasions over the years.
